Management is a discipline that has developed most rapidly in modern human history, and it has had the greatest impact on socioeconomic development over the past century; it is also a field that is closely linked to human social activities. 　　In the revisions to the sixth edition of this book, feedback from readers since the release of the previous five editions and the experiences of various leading institutions in teaching practice were taken into account. Greater attention was paid to the practical challenges faced by enterprises in the context of deeper reforms; the existing content was adjusted and supplemented, with a particular focus on updating the section on control. The case studies at the end of each chapter from the fifth edition have also been fully updated in the sixth edition. 　　This book is a perennial in management textbooks. It was praised by Professor Li Yining as having “reconstructed the teaching system of management studies in China”. Since its first edition was published in 1993, the total circulation has exceeded 3.5 million copies. It has become the preferred textbook for management-related courses in as many as 500 institutions in our country, and it is also the preferred material for training civil servants and corporate managers. For over two decades, it has consistently ranked first among the longest-format bestsellers in China’s management textbooks.
