At the production facility site, manholes are one of the main sources of unpleasant odors; often, poor sealing of the manhole covers leads to the spread of these odors throughout the facility, especially on rainy days. I would like to recommend to everyone the “new type of sealing device for oil-containing sewage manholes” that is being used by our affiliated companies. Case: Sinopec Hainan Refining & Chemical Company. Hainan Refining & Chemical implemented an innovatively designed new sealing system for oil-containing sewage manholes in its aromatic compounds processing units, thereby effectively improving the ability of these manholes to prevent the leakage of unpleasant odors. After its installation, the concentration of unpleasant odors dropped below 3 parts per million, which is well below the **standard. Furthermore, by using waste materials such as insulation residues as raw materials, this facility reduces costs by about 50% compared to the conventional integrated exhaust gas treatment manhole covers used in the industry, achieving a win-win situation in terms of environmental and economic benefits.
The new sealing device for oil-containing sewage manholes is designed to address the issue of unpleasant odors from such manholes, employing innovative design methods. The following are its main features and components: 1. Using leftover anti-corrosion and insulating aluminum sheet to make the outer ring of the manhole cover: Utilizing such leftover material for the outer ring of the manhole cover not only saves costs but also enhances the durability and anti-corrosion properties of the manhole cover. 2. Waterproof membrane: A waterproof membrane is installed inside the manhole cover to effectively prevent the penetration of moisture and unpleasant odors. 3. Sand filling: Fill sand on top of the waterproof membrane to further block the pathways through which unpleasant odors can spread. 4. Lay fire-resistant fabric: Place fire-resistant fabric on top of the sand to enhance the safety of the manhole cover and prevent accidents such as fires. 5. Four-stage method for preventing odors: This four-stage prevention approach utilizes the aforementioned four levels to create an efficient and durable sealing system for oil-containing sewage manholes, thereby effectively blocking the pathways through which odors can spread.
Hehe, there really isn’t any. You can get in touch with Hainan Petrochemical to check.
