Where is a thermometer for a 30-cubic-meter horizontal diesel tank usually placed?

A new horizontal diesel tank is being constructed at atmospheric pressure. To facilitate temperature monitoring, I would like to place a thermometer in the middle of the horizontal tank – is this permitted by standards?
The middle part of the cylinder? If the calculation is correct, then there’s no problem. Generally, it is not recommended to make openings in the middle section due to high bending moments. Of course, thermometers are generally small in diameter, so it doesn’t really matter.
