As is well known, the use of internal floating roof tanks reduces material losses significantly compared to dome tanks. Yet many storage tanks that are currently under construction still use dome tanks – are there any other reasons aside from cost savings? Everyone is welcome to discuss and offer suggestions.

The internal floating roof is only suitable for normal pressure, right? It also gets stuck easily, and the gauge readings are inaccurate!
The diameter limit of the internal floating roof is due to safety reasons and has nothing to do with the chuck.
Whether a storage tank needs a floating roof or not mainly depends on the properties of the material stored; floating roofs are used for materials that are highly volatile or toxic. According to the requirements of structural mechanics, the cost being economically viable is not a significant factor.
It’s a matter of the material’s properties; materials that are volatile and highly toxic require the use of floating trays.
