The hydrochloric acid produced as a by-product in the Mannheim potassium sulfate process has a yellowish color; are there any good methods to reduce its color intensity? What is the reason for the yellow color?
You need to identify the impurities in hydrochloric acid, such as iron ions, in order to determine the factors causing the yellowish color, and then take targeted actions to address them
Several tests have been conducted, and almost no iron ions were detected; their levels were only present to four decimal places. Usually, the color on the production line is lighter, while it becomes darker after the material is stored in the tank. Consultations with the tank manufacturers did not yield an explanation for this phenomenon.
