Recently, the 58,000 Nm3/h phosphine removal unit for converter flue gas, developed by Shanxi Woneng Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. under the EP general contracting of Southwest Chemical Engineering, was brought online successfully in its first attempt; all parameters of the output gas met the requirements specified in the contract, and the unit passed the acceptance test. Comprehensive project for producing 300,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol along with LNG (liquid natural gas) from exhaust gases. This converter flue gas phosphine removal system is the project with the largest volume of converter flue gas treatment since the company was established. The purified converter flue gas not only eliminates nearly 10 types of impurities but also reduces the levels of phosphine and hydrogen fluoride (expressed in terms of fluorine) to less than 1 ppm. The PSA-based purification of converter flue gas is the result of successful transformation of a company’s research and development project into a practical application; it has been adopted by numerous manufacturing plants and has become a highly mature industrial technology for the company. The successful commissioning and normal operation of these devices have resulted in excellent purification efficiency of converter flue gas, earning high recognition from the owners.
