I would like to ask regarding the personnel appointment system in a pressure vessel manufacturer’s quality assurance manual: is it possible to appoint two personnel responsible for non-destructive testing? We have two workshops: one for gas cylinders and one for storage tanks
To ensure quality control, why appoint two people?
It depends on the actual needs; each case must be analyzed on its own. If there are no mandatory regulations, different arrangements take into account certain considerations, which only the authorities are aware of.
We have two workshops producing different products; would it be more convenient to have a non-destructive testing supervisor for each workshop, so that the reports can be signed there?

After all, it’s a matter for the company to decide on its own – why not? By categorizing things and adding more staff, the review and signing process becomes much easier, of course
If regulations require that only one person can hold a certain position, such as the chief engineer, then only one person can hold that role, while multiple people can serve as deputy chief engineers; however, their signing authority differs, and this is something one should be aware of. If it’s a task that can be reviewed item by item, and as long as someone with the appropriate qualifications confirms it, then it can be set up by oneself.
