Jinling Petrochemical uses thermal nitrogen technology to improve the regeneration efficiency of the plant’s adsorbents. Recently, the PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption hydrogen production) unit at Jinling Petrochemical utilized thermal nitrogen regeneration technology, which enabled a 30% increase in the regeneration efficiency of the adsorbents. This improved the lifespan of these adsorbents by 2.5 times, resulting in cost savings of over one million yuan and bringing significant economic and environmental benefits. In traditional PSA units, the regeneration of the adsorbent is generally achieved using high-temperature steam or by direct replacement, which has disadvantages such as large amounts of waste adsorbent to handle and long downtime. To this end, the company established a task force to work on technical solutions; after extensive research and thorough analysis, it was decided to use a thermal nitrogen closed-loop regeneration process for the regeneration of the adsorbent. Through repeated exploration, experimentation, and optimization, the task force successfully implemented the thermal nitrogen regeneration technique for adsorbents, thereby reviving their \"second life\". Actual regeneration results show that this technology effectively shortens the adsorbent regeneration cycle, extends the operational life of the device by about 5%, and reduces energy consumption and waste generation in the device.
