The “self-discipline tool” he mentioned is precisely the intelligent optimization control platform that combines the company’s newly deployed advanced process control system (APC) with industrial large models. The boiler control in traditional thermal power plants relies on the exquisite skills of veteran operators who “observe, listen, inquire, and feel”: they assess the color of the flame, listen to the sound of combustion, and touch the temperature of the pipe walls. Drawing on their experience, they manage to maintain stability despite fluctuations in coal quality and load variations. Although this “traditional Chinese medicine approach” is effective, it inevitably suffers from delays and inaccuracies; energy consumption and emissions are like heavy stones pressing on the chest. Qixiang Tengda’s solution to this problem is to equip the boilers with a “thinking AI brain”. This project is not a simple automated upgrade; with \"efficiency + environmental protection\" as its core objectives, Qixiang Tengda employs intelligent control technologies that combine APC with industrial large models to develop data-driven, multi-variable coordinated solutions, focusing precisely on combustion optimization and environmental protection optimization. By establishing soft sensing and automatic online optimization mechanisms, they developed an innovative coal-fired coordination control strategy based on energy balance. This strategy enables precise control over key aspects such as fuel supply to the equipment and air flow regulation, thereby reducing coal consumption at its source. Moving beyond the limitations of traditional manual experience, this approach makes use of an environmental-friendly optimization control system to collect key data in real time; it allows for dynamic adjustments to the ratio of air to coal and to the amount of chemicals used, based on trends in those data. As a result, nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced while denitration efficiency is improved, and energy consumption is saved. “In the past, changing a parameter required making five or six calls, but now the system does it automatically. ”Li Chuan, the deputy director of the thermal power plant, pointed at the real-time data displayed on the screen and said, “And it’s smarter than humans; it can always find unexpected areas for optimization.” ” The data is the most convincing: since the system was put into operation half a year ago, it has not only reduced carbon dioxide emissions from the boilers but also cut emissions of pollutants such as nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, and dust by 556.4 kilograms. It is expected to save the company 843,000 yuan in costs each year, achieving a win-win situation in terms of environmental protection and economic benefits.
