The renovation of the mixing system in Jihua’s styrene-butadiene rubber production facility is complete

Recently, the renovation of the mixing systems V-605C and V-606C in Jilin Petrochemical’s styrene-butadiene rubber plant was completed and put into use. After the renovation, the device’s consumption of compressed air was reduced by 300 cubic meters per hour, steam consumption dropped by 0.3 tons per hour, and the proportion of high-quality products increased by 1 percentage point; it is estimated that this will result in annual savings of over 2 million yuan. 　　Before the renovation, due to the insufficient capacity of the mixing system, the styrene-butadiene rubber production unit relied for a long time on injecting compressed air and steam into the tanks to assist with mixing, which increased the consumption of utility resources. Moreover, uneven mixing affected the aggregation of rubber particles, the conversion of soap compounds, and the efficiency of ash washing, thereby hindering an increase in the proportion of high-quality products. In response, the technical staff organized specialized discussions, and it was ultimately decided to change from vertical mixing to horizontal mixing and to reduce the size of the baffles inside the tank. After the modification, the performance of this device was significantly improved, with reduced consumption; corrosion of the equipment caused by moisture was diminished, and the proportion of high-quality products increased.
