Low-pressure storage tanks are suitable for storing lightly contaminated oil. The main concern is that during the start-up and shutdown phases of the plant or when there are fluctuations in its operation, light contaminated oil, which is rich in light hydrocarbon components, is volatile, unsafe, and causes severe environmental pollution. Currently, most light contaminated oil tanks are internal floating roof tanks, with a few being arch roof tanks. It is recommended to use a low-pressure storage tank for sealed discharge. For those that cannot be converted to low-pressure tanks, internal floating roof tanks with nitrogen sealing should be used. Adding nitrogen sealing can address safety issues, but it does not solve environmental problems.
