I’m not sure how long you mean by \"running for a while.\" Under normal circumstances, it’s difficult for a quench tower to get clogged; this only happens if it is in operation for an extremely long time, more than 3 years.
It’s been a little over 2 years, and this issue has already appeared in our devices. Have you encountered it in your devices as well? How was it solved?

Blockages in the trays of quench towers generally occur when the alkali circulation is insufficient; this happens mainly when the catalyst is not cleaned properly, causing the alkali to react with acidic substances and form complex compounds that adhere to the catalyst and create solid deposits that block the trays! Under the current circumstances, once it occurs, the only option is to stop work for cleanup! Of course, if it’s not severe, it can be delayed by increasing the amount of water used for washing, ensuring stable reaction conditions, and improving the efficiency of the cyclone
During normal operation, would appropriately lowering the pH value of the quench water help to delay the occurrence of blockages in the quench tower?
I would like to ask again: what does “alkali circulation short” refer to?
