This post was last edited by ylb913 on 2017-3-17 06:48. I’ve always thought there are hardly any. Over the past two years, our two regeneration systems have been continuously discharging some acidic water to the wastewater stripping unit.
There will always be trace amounts of MDEA in the reflux liquid; levels of 500-600 ppmwt are possible, but it is advisable to keep these levels as low as possible. Where feasible, regular analysis should be conducted to monitor any changes in concentration. If the concentration fluctuates significantly, additional samples should be analyzed and other operational parameters checked to determine whether there are any abnormalities. It depends on how the original design for mass balance is structured; it is possible to achieve no extraction. However, if the amine concentration is high and part of the reflux stream is continuously sent to the wastewater stripping tower, then the extent of amine loss needs to be taken into consideration
Will the continuous acid-water stripping treatment of the acidic water at the top of the regeneration tower increase the ammonia nitrogen content in the wastewater discharged from the sewage treatment plant?
In this case, the amount of wastewater discharged is not large, so the impact should be minimal.
I did it a very long time ago; it was somewhere between 1% and 2%, I can’t remember exactly
Why go through wastewater stripping? Even a very small amount of MDEA can render the purified water unsuitable for use, so it can be stored for adjusting the concentration of the amine solution.
