As the title suggests, our company needs to add more cooling towers in order to expand its production capacity. After checking the relevant standards, the \"GB40598-2009 Code for General Layout and Transportation Design of Chemical Enterprises\" sets high requirements regarding the distance between cooling towers. However, clause 5.3.3-5 specifies that the distance between small mechanical ventilation cooling towers and adjacent facilities can be reduced appropriately. I wonder if anyone here is aware of any major companies in this field; do they know what the differences are between large and small fiberglass cooling towers? 100t/h? 200t/h? ?
Our two cooling tower fans can handle 2,000 tons of water per hour per tower – is that considered large or small?

Same here; it’s really tough to decide. The GBT50102-2003 \"Code for Design of Industrial Circulating Water Cooling Systems\" also refers directly to small, medium, and large sizes – but how exactly are these sizes determined? ! ! !
\"Code for Design of Mechanical Ventilated Cooling Towers\" (GB/T50392-2016) 3.1.2 The classification of cooling towers into large, medium, and small sizes shall be carried out in accordance with the following provisions: 1 Large: The cooling water volume per cell is not less than 3000 m3/h; 2 Medium: The cooling water volume per cell is less than 3000 m3/h and not less than 1000 m3/h ; 3 Small: The cooling water volume per cell is less than 1000 m3/h.
