The design operating pressure at the top of the atmospheric distillation column is 0.032 MPa. The original design included a nitrogen filling valve at the top of the reflux tank in this column; frequent control of the column pressure during normal operation led to unstable reflux. Currently, it is planned to continuously feed nitrogen into the middle part of the column in order to maintain the pressure at the top, but the size of the orifice in the nitrogen flow control plate cannot be determined yet. I would appreciate some guidance from the more experienced experts here. The volume of the atmospheric pressure tower is approximately 101.1 m3, with a designed pressure at the top of the tower of 0.032 MPa. The actual operating pressure is 0.010 MPa, while the nitrogen pressure is 0.6 MPa. This is controlled through the amount of reflux and the temperature at the top of the pressurized tower; such modifications are carried out as supplementary adjustments later on. “3+1” column distillation, general distillation design, no diagrams included!
The throttle device manufacturer simply needs to perform the calculations and supply the product – it’s very straightforward.
It’s not that simple; many gold processing manufacturers in China lack technical personnel and only know the surface aspects without understanding the underlying principles. Some technicians are also half-baked. One shouldn’t blindly trust what the manufacturer says
To stabilize the tower pressure by adding nitrogen, a nitrogen control valve is generally used, which offers flexibility and controllability, rather than a flow-limiting orifice plate.
Is it determined that the unstable reflux is caused by nitrogen? The nitrogen supplementation location can be adjusted.
