The benzene removal tower and benzene washing tower have been out of use for a year; all manholes and vents are open. We are now preparing to carry out demolition work using fire. There is no steam available at the site, so we plan to rely on axial flow fans for ventilation, and gas detectors will be used for monitoring. Do anyone have any safety suggestions?
The heating element wasn’t turned on; that was a bit reckless. If it’s left unattended for a year, there could be residues on the trays and in the dead zones inside. What wind detection can catch are only the volatile gases; as for the liquids or residual combustible solids present, it’s best to go in and check their amount before coming up with an appropriate solution. Or disassemble it section by section by injecting water
