Our company built a new sulfuric acid production plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons in 2018; it came online at the end of that year and has been in operation for 17 months so far. During that period, leakage occurred multiple times at the air inlet of the drying tower and at its bottom butterfly valve, and measures such as plugging the leaks were taken to address the issue. During the major maintenance in May this year, inspections revealed that the air inlet of the drying tower, the brickwork surrounding the inlet, and the tiles at the bottom in a butterfly shape were severely corroded ; Inspection revealed that the fiber mist eliminators in Tower 1 and Tower 2 were severely damaged. For the raw materials used in production, we carry out ore blending to strictly keep the fluoride content below 0.05%. Fluoride removal is achieved through measures such as the use of water glass and the installation of magnetic rings on the surface of the filler towers. However, the specific causes of issues like corrosion in the drying towers and corrosion in the fiber mist eliminators remain unclear at present. I hope everyone can give me some advice! Thank you.
