It happens every time the cutta is made; it’s possible to adjust the amount of gas in advance, and there is also a natural gas pipeline network, though the fluctuations are somewhat smaller. This doesn’t solve the underlying problem, as the main reason is that the gas system is too small and has too few components, making it highly susceptible to disruptions. As long as a large system is established, it has almost no impact; one can build their own atmospheric tanks and large pipeline networks, which will be sufficient to buffer the fluctuations in dry gas that occur during the switching of coking towers!
