Dear sea friend, I have here a set of 50,000 tons of sulfur that uses a pre-alkaline washing process to remove only H2S. Originally, the HeTu Design Institute designed the system to use fresh water for washing; however, scaling and blockages occurred during operation, which reduced the amount of water used for washing and led to excessive emissions of sulfur dioxide. As a result, desalinated water was adopted instead. Currently, the purified water is discharged directly to the wastewater treatment plant; it is being considered to divert this purified water to the sulfur caustic scrubber tower to replace the demineralized water. Dear sea friends, are there any of you using purified water at the moment? Why can’t purified water be used? ?
What are the temperature of the purified water, as well as the levels of sulfur and ammonia nitrogen?
pH 8.5, sulfides 19, ammonia nitrogen 20, temperature 35 degrees.
The sulfide level is a bit high, but it exists mainly in ionic form, so it doesn’t affect usability. Personally, I suggest trying to use purified water, and then returning the output water to acidic vapor stripping.
The water exiting the system returns to the stripping process, which has a significant impact on the parameters of the purified water; moreover, this water tends to form scale
