The pressure in the main exhaust gas pipeline entering the waste chlorine absorption tower fluctuates; the normal pressure is around -1.8 KPa, while during fluctuations it can drop to -0.2 KPa. The amount of exhaust gas flowing in remains unchanged during these fluctuations. It is suspected that the packing inside the tower may be partially blocked by salt crystals, so it is necessary to clean the tower. Should this cleaning be carried out using a low-concentration alkali solution or plain water? Is there any risk if plain water is used, given that it’s not possible to completely prevent exhaust gas from entering the tower during cleaning? Additionally, how long does it usually take to clean the tower, and under what conditions can we consider the tower to be cleaned? Thank you!
To ensure safe production, it is possible to use a low-concentration alkaline solution for cleaning; it is best to raise the temperature of the alkaline solution, as this facilitates the dissolution of salt crystals.
Empty one of the hyposodium circulation tanks in the system and refill it; heat the water in the circulation tank to produce cleaning water, which is then used for high-flow circulation cleaning. A portion of the waste gas is absorbed by the exhaust tower. At the end of the cleaning process, the salt content in the cleaning solution is measured – the process is complete when this level remains stable and does not increase. Pay attention to monitoring the chlorine content in the exhaust tower.
Our chlorine waste gas absorption tower is a packed tower that uses normal-temperature absorption; it gets clogged in winter. Would it be better to increase the temperature of the absorbing alkaline solution or to convert it into a falling-film tower?
