Nylon 66 boasts excellent properties, a wide range of applications, and a bright future! At present, the supply of key raw materials such as adiponitrile/adipamide is a focal issue affecting the development of the industry! I hope everyone will engage in lively discussions and exchanges!
On February 28, 1935, Wallace Hume Carothers’ team at the American company DuPont successfully synthesized polyhexamethylenediamine (the precursor to Nylon 66), and a patent was filed in 1937. In 1938, DuPont established a pilot plant, and industrial production began in 1939. In 1948, DuPont’s production capacity of nylon 66 reached 35,000 tons, and this figure increased to 65,000 tons in 1951. Where is the bottleneck?
