http://datong.house.sina.com.cn 08:44, September 16, 2011 Datong Daily On September 15, Tongmei Group launched the construction of a project aimed at producing 240,000 tons of polyoxymethylene per year. This is another significant step taken by Tongmei Group to accelerate its transformation and development, to extend its coal industry chain, and to strengthen its coal chemical industry. Once completed, this project will become the world’s largest polyoxymethylene production facility. It is reported that during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, Tongmei Group, in line with the overall strategic plan put forward by the provincial party committee and the province to accelerate transformation and achieve leapfrog development, seized the favorable opportunity of establishing a comprehensive reform pilot zone for the transformation of resource-based economies. It invested 33.6 billion yuan to develop a world-class coal chemical circular economy park. The park includes facilities for producing 3 million tons of methanol, 240,000 tons of polyoxymethylene, and 600,000 tons of olefins and polyoxymethylene; it will also establish production bases for three types of plastics: polyoxymethylene, polyethylene, and polypropylene. Once all the facilities of the project are completed and put into operation, it will be able to convert 7.77 million tons of coal on-site, generating an annual output value of 18.4 billion yuan, thus becoming the largest coal chemical circular economy park in our province. Polyoxymethylene is an engineering plastic with excellent comprehensive properties; it is known as a material that can rival or even surpass steel. It can be widely used as a substitute for metal materials such as steel, copper, zinc, and aluminum, and is primarily applied in industries such as automobiles, electrical equipment, machinery manufacturing, precision instruments, military applications, construction, and sports. The 240,000-ton per year polyoxymethylene production project of Tongmei Group, which is now under construction, has a total investment of 7.68 billion yuan. It represents one of the downstream products of Tongmei Group’s 3 million tons per year methanol production project in the coal chemical circular economy park; it is also an extremely important \"carbon-chemical\" downstream product within the coal chemical industry chain. The production capacity of this project is 240,000 tons of polyoxymethylene per year, along with 87.51 million kWh of electricity supplied to external parties; it also consumes 340,000 tons of methanol annually. The production facility mainly consists of 12 processes for formaldehyde preparation and concentration, 2 processes for trioxane, 1 process for dioxolane, 8 polymerization and post-treatment units, as well as units for flaring exhaust gases, and it employs copolymerized formaldehyde production technology. Upon completion of this project, it is estimated that the annual sales revenue will reach 3.438 billion yuan, with an annual profit of 835 million yuan.
That’s great; there will be a place to go if you want to change jobs in the future
OP, could you reveal where the technology for Tongmei comes from?
It should be using KEP technology
With such a high production volume, the domestic market must be saturated. I hope that polyoxymethylene won’t face the same tragic fate as silicon wafers!
Reply to 2# Menglei: Sure, I hope we can become colleagues
Reply to 6# colgateluo: I agree
May I ask how many production lines do you have for the granulation of your 240,000 tons of polyoxymethylene? What is the output per line? What are the equipment specifications? Looking forward to learning*
With such rapid development, it’s no wonder economic experts talk about excessive investment in the country – in various areas
Only two lines for trioxane? How big needs to be the reactor? What technology is used?
