For the commissioning of pumps in our unit, we operate by closing the pump outlet valve and using a full cycle of the minimum return line; the pump inlet is connected to a methanol tank, and production water is used as the medium for commissioning – all the conditions for commissioning are met. When we press the power button, the motor current is very high, accompanied by significant pump vibration. As we slowly opened the return line valve, the motor continued to increase in speed, and the pressure at the pump outlet decreased. The motor’s rated current is 380A, but the operating current of the motor reaches 400A
Is the pump aligned properly? Is the inlet unobstructed?
