Dear experienced colleagues, recently the company has decided to improve its manufacturing processes by using a socket weld type fitting made of stainless steel. The sealing surfaces of this fitting are flat, and it is sealed through sealing rings; there is also a throttle orifice plate placed between the two sealing rings. However, it’s impossible to find any standards related to this type of fitting. Does anyone know anything about it?
What size do you need? I’ve never seen a connector with a flow control orifice plate; I just deleted the photos of those connectors today
I just remembered why throttling is needed – couldn’t we just add a valve? If the seal flushing water pipe is quite thin, can a flow restrictor be installed?
The structure of a flexible joint with a orifice plate is not good, as it is prone to leakage; it is better to use a small flange with an orifice plate placed in the middle. If the pipe is really too small, modify the inlet for the mechanical seal flushing water to be custom-made, and drill a hole of the size you determine there.
The water connection for the pump’s seal should be quite small; if you install a orifice plate, it will become even smaller. Is the flow rate of the seal water sufficient to meet the pump’s requirements? I think you just need to add a small valve

Actually, for socket weld connections with flat-end face sealing, there are no standards in GB; ASME B16.11 and MSS SP 83 seem to specify a conical sealing surface
What sizes of connectors do I have? 1/2, 1/4, 3/8. What material are they?
