One of the centrifugal pumps in our factory starts frequently; due to the interlock system based on the level gauge, this causes the impeller cover to loosen, eventually leading to damage to the impeller. The repair costs are high. What are some solutions?

It is best to explain the pump type, the frequency of startup, and how the float level is set. Logically, frequent startups should not cause the impeller to loosen, unless the design of the impeller nuts is inadequate.
A check valve should be installed at the pump outlet to prevent reverse rotation from causing the impeller nut to loosen. The impeller nut can also be designed with tightening screws in the center, or anti-rotation lock plates can be added to the nut
Switch to variable frequency control: increase the speed when the liquid level is high and reduce it when the level is low. This helps to prevent frequent starting and stopping of the pump.
Here’s a trick: use a welding rod to connect the impeller nut to the impeller, avoiding the hexagonal area of the nut (to prevent difficulties during future repairs and disassembly); just make a few welds at each end! To disassemble it, just remove the welding rod!
We have the same issue here; not only do the impeller nuts tend to come loose, but there are also problems with the coupling bolts and laminations.
For diaphragm couplings, you might want to try Chuangming couplings – their nuts are pre-tightened anti-loosening nuts!
