Why are dry gas seals used in centrifugal pumps
Mechanical seals come in many varieties, and can be broadly divided into two categories: wet seals and dry seals. Dry sealing is more stable than wet sealing, has a longer lifespan, but is also more expensive. Of course, dry gas seals also belong to mechanical seals.
