Dear seniors, I have a few questions... ① Can the portable petrochemical process pump (model: 100 GY 25 A) be installed on two pieces of 10# channel steel, secured with expansion bolts? Can the channel steel be used without grouting? (Because from what I’ve learned before, pumps are usually constructed by pouring concrete, and they need to be placed about 100 units above the ground level; so I’m not entirely sure.) ② The manager of the relevant department said that a rubber pad about 10 mm thick should be used as a separator between the channel steel and the pump’s base, as this would help reduce vibrations (he said he found this information online). (Is this necessary, since pumps and motors don’t require alignment or straightening?) There is also the issue of coaxiality: once the rubber gasket ages outdoors and deforms, causing the pump to become uneven, could other problems arise as a result? These are the two questions I have regarding this matter. Due to my limited work experience, and the fact that no relevant standards address this issue, I would be very grateful if those with more experience could explain it to me in detail. Thank you~
I’ve seen rubber pads; they are generally used where motors are connected directly or in belt-driven systems. Moreover, the motor and pump are on the same frame, with rubber shock absorbers at the bottom of the frame. Regarding your second question, the pump and motor should be fixed to the channel steel, and shock-absorbing rubber pads should be used between the channel steel and the concrete foundation. The first question: grouting is required inside the channel steel
I noticed that this is a detachable pipeline pump. If the motor and the pump body are fixed to the same metal frame, it is feasible to add shock-absorbing pads under the frame. Second question, if expansion bolts are used to secure it between the frame and the floor, it seems unnecessary to use shock absorbers. Just adjust the level properly.
It is best to connect the two channel steels together to form a single unit, ensuring proper levelness. Rubber pads are not necessary (the small pump does not vibrate much once properly aligned).
