This self-priming pump has a small hole with a flange on each side of its pump body; only one of them can be seen in the photo, with another one on the other side. What is it used for?
The inlet and outlet pipes of the cooling water jackets on both sides enable water to flow through the jacket layer of the pump body for cooling purposes
The two flanges are connected; water enters at one end and exits at the other. Its function is to cool or insulate, depending on the specific situation. No cooling or insulation is needed; it’s fine just as it is
Used for cooling or heating the pump head of mechanical pumps
