For plants that require an annual major overhaul, the continuous operation cycle of chemical pumps should generally not be less than 8,000 hours. To meet the requirements of the three-year major maintenance cycle, APl610 (Version 8) stipulates that the continuous operation period for pumps used in the petroleum, petrochemical, and gas industries should be at least 3 years.
