Our factory has a pump with a head of 30 meters and a flow rate of 25 m³. The fluid is acidic wastewater, with a pH of 5-6 and a temperature of 90-120 degrees. The problem is that the high temperature makes it easy for vacuum formation and cavitation to occur. Do you have any good solutions?

The key to this type of pump lies in the choice of materials; since it is used for frequent evacuation, it must have a reliable seal cooling system. Given the poor reliability, a centrifugal pump should be used, with one in operation and two as backups; it won’t cost much either.
The container at the pump inlet is replaced with a pressure vessel to apply pressure. Or the high point for level control. Or cool it down with a cooler.
The pump inlet is a pool, so it cannot generate pressure. How to increase the liquid level control? How to cool down?
If the original pump motor is two-pole, consider choosing a four-pole (lower speed) pump. If it is already quadrupolar, considering adding an induction wheel is an option. If an inducer wheel is not feasible, a pit can be dug and the pump lowered into it to increase the liquid level. Or use a submersible pump or other type of pump

In such situations, it’s necessary to choose materials resistant to cavitation; taking into account the cavitation issues associated with the device, if a 2-stage pump isn’t sufficient, an inducer wheel can be added first. If that still doesn’t work, then a 4-stage pump can be considered. Generally, a 4-stage pump will definitely work, though it’s more expensive. Previously, trying to install a level 2 impeller in our unit didn’t work; we ended up losing a level 4 pump and suffered losses of over a hundred thousand yuan: lol
