What are the differences in selecting rotary jet pumps and vortex pumps? They are all used in situations with low flow rates and high head pressures.
Vortex pumps have a lower head than volute pumps. The efficiency of a rotary vane pump can be slightly higher.
These two types of pumps are generally used to transport clean fluids; the rotary vane pump is sensitive to particle blockages in the pitot tube, while the vortex pump is prone to wear.

Vortex pumps are not suitable for transporting media with high viscosity or solid particles, while rotary jet pumps can handle media that contain certain small particles. The efficiency of both types of pumps is relatively lower than that of ordinary centrifugal pumps (there’s nothing that can be done about it; the efficiency of such pumps simply cannot be very high, it’s more or less on par with that of high-speed pumps).
