How to operate when two pumps are connected in series? Especially regarding the traffic, does it have to be set to the same level? What if the flow rates through the two pumps are not equal?
When two pumps are connected in series, the second pump must be able to meet the inlet pressure provided by the first pump. The flow rate through the two pumps must be the same; if one pump has a higher flow rate than the other, the excess flow from that pump will simply cause backflow within the pump itself.
If the flow rates of the two pumps are different, the one with the higher flow rate should be placed first; the flow rate of the first pump will be limited by that of the pump with the lower flow rate
