The shaft seal end of the pump is exposed – what is this called? Does its exposure have any impact on the pump? As shown in the image
This post was last edited by qwl on 2018-3-15 11:04: Oil seal. Nothing wrong after coming out; it returns to normal after parking. Prevent the oil in the lubricating oil tank from overflowing and flowing back at the shaft and gland.
A dust cover is used to prevent external dust from entering the bearing housing through the gap between the shaft and the gland, thereby avoiding contamination of the bearings and lubricating oil. It’s best to tighten it up, but don’t rely on the bearing cover – leave a gap of 20 to 30 threads.
The baffle disc, commonly known as the oil return dust-proof disc, is used in conjunction with the labyrinth seal of the bearing cover to prevent oil leakage and dust intrusion. It is already loose in the diagram; withdraw it and stop the machine to tighten the locking screw, while also paying attention to the clearance with the bearing cover.
It’s the oil seal for the bearing housing; there are two pieces in a set, and they all rotate along with the shaft. It’s possible that the set screw is loose. It may cause oil leakage from the shaft seal.
Dust cover, axial clearance from bearing gland: 0.8–1 mm
It’s probably an oil seal or a water seal something like that; it might not be a serious issue, but there’s a high chance of abnormal noises occurring
The oil seals for the bearing housing come in sets of two; they all rotate together with the shaft. A loose set screw can cause oil leakage from the shaft seal.
The oil seal ring has come out; this will cause oil leakage. Just stop and fix it
The dust and water-proof ring – after restoration, it should maintain an axial gap of 1 mm from the bearing cover!
The dust seal doesn’t pose any major problems even when the device is in operation; after it stops, tighten it again, leaving a gap of about 1 mm between it and the bearing cover.
