What causes difficulty in turning the spare centrifugal pump?
(1) Severe shaft bending (2) Damaged or stuck components (3) Oil has solidified; preheating and purging are required (4) Stuck due to lack of rotation over a long period
The vehicle won’t turn over, but it can be started by force; once started, the vibration and temperature are both normal. It shouldn’t be due to the reasons mentioned above, right?
Trying to start the vehicle when it won’t turn is very dangerous; generally, such a thing isn’t done. If the vehicle starts normally, it’s possible that insufficient force was applied when trying to turn it, which is why it couldn’t be turned. It might also be a bit stuck. But, avoid doing this in the future; if there are other issues, the lack of rotation could damage the pump entirely. These are personal opinions and not necessarily correct.
Check the bearing; the grease inside solidifies if it is not used for a long time
The small clearance of the sealing ring, the lack of lubrication using a medium, along with the flexibility of the shaft, all contribute to difficulties in rotating the pump; pumps of this type generally have high efficiency
The pump shaft is bent, the bearings are stuck, and the compression amount of the mechanical seal is too high; in addition, there may be dust particles trapped due to a small gap between the ring seals
Take the backup pump apart for inspection; be careful not to damage the equipment. It might be that the clearance of the ring is insufficient
It hasn’t been in use for a long time, so the oil film tension is high; just moving it will help
It’s stuck inside; open it and check.
