How does this pump work? What is the purpose of that small tank with two outlet tubes on the outlet side?
The water ring pump is used for vacuum creation, and the outlet is there for diversion, as required by the customer

The vacuum pump is equipped with a clutch; it stops rotating once water is drawn in. Centrifugal pumps need to run idle for a while

It should be a diesel fire pump, right? A diesel engine provides the power to drive the pump, which is used here as a backup for boosting pressure in the fire suppression system.
Could you please explain the startup sequence of the pump as well as the customer’s requirements?
Aren’t fire pumps all painted red? This must be just an ordinary water pump. Diesel engines are not necessarily used for firefighting; they may also be employed in remote areas where electricity is unavailable.
