Opportunities and challenges are twin brothers. Today, the process of urbanization in China is accelerating rapidly, which will lead to a significant increase in the demand for pumps. On the other hand, China’s pump industry faces certain issues of its own; compared to the products of international companies, its products lack competitiveness. Firstly, wastewater treatment has always been an issue of concern to both the public and **. The process of treating wastewater is quite complex. Similarly, the quality of wastewater is also special; it may contain many various impurities, and industrial wastewater can be highly corrosive. “The \"omnipotent\" sewage pumps are required to deliver sewage continuously and steadily to all stages of wastewater treatment; therefore, sewage lift pumps must meet the specified requirements in operational conditions and be able to cope with the special conditions present in sewage. However, ordinary clean water pump impellers will get stuck immediately when dealing with impurities such as aluminum cans and nylon ropes, failing to carry out the pumping task. Moreover, when the corrosivity in the water is high, the lifespan of both the impeller and the pump body is reduced. Therefore, there is a need for sewage pump products that have broader applicability and a longer lifespan. Secondly, the overall service and design capabilities of domestic pump manufacturers are far too weak. This is reflected in both internal and external aspects. From an external perspective, many major projects require overall design and the capability to provide systematic services; however, domestic companies almost lack the ability to develop comprehensive design plans and are thus unable to offer complete solutions for such projects. As a result, its competitiveness is particularly weak compared to the leading companies in developed countries. From an internal perspective, the pump manufacturing industry is itself a relatively complex industrial system that requires overall coordination among various parties such as design units, manufacturing units, production enterprises, and end-user sectors in order to carry out production. Domestic enterprises are far from having such companies with complete production and R&D capabilities; instead, research institutes, design agencies, and manufacturing firms operate independently, lacking the ability to undertake general contracting tasks.
