We evacuate 14 columns; each pair of columns is evacuated using a 2X-15 rotary vane vacuum pump, with a total of 7 such pumps. These pumps become unusable after a few months of operation, as small particles and substances similar to oil accelerate their wear. The filtering devices we use are not effective.
