One of the horizontal split-centrifugal pumps in our factory was taken apart for maintenance today, and it was found that the outer bearing is a 6330 type (deep groove ball bearing), while the inner bearing is a cylindrical roller bearing. It’s possible that it was installed incorrectly in the past; the rollers and retainers of the cylindrical roller bearing on the inner side are missing. . Can only deep groove ball bearings be installed? The pump speed is 970 r/min
Are you sure it’s a bearing inside, and not an adjusting ring?

In the first diagram, the color of the outer ring and the chamfer on its edge don’t resemble those of bearings produced by a proper manufacturer. In the second picture, both the oil slinger and the component below it have been modified to this shape, and the lubricating oil has not emulsified. This outer ring serves as an adjustment ring. In this way, the bearing housings on both sides can be manufactured to the same size. Can be swapped
Under normal conditions, concerns regarding axial forces exist; one end uses a paired ball bearing, while the other end employs a deep groove ball bearing or a cylindrical roller bearing.
Can deep groove ball bearings be used on both ends? Two on each side?
The pump rotor is definitely limited at one end (usually at the drive end), while the other end is free; this bearing arrangement is correct.
Sure, there are double-row deep groove ball bearings; if you use two of them together, it should not be a problem
We have such pumps here as well, but they use deep groove ball bearings on both sides and are of single-row type. Roller bearings were not used as the free end.
