What does it mean by the prohibition against cleaning the impeller in the operating requirements for magnetic pump?
Steam cleaning generally refers to the use of steam for cleaning; in simple terms, it is steam purging. This method can introduce dirt into the pump, and since magnetic pumps have very small gaps, operating them in this way can cause damage to the pump.
Modern magnets can withstand very high temperatures, so the temperature issue should not be a major problem. For purging, 1.0 MPa of steam is generally used at a temperature of over 200 degrees; this shouldn’t pose any issues.
The key concern is preventing foreign objects such as welding slag from being swept into the pump body; once such objects get inside magnetic pumps or shielded pumps, they will inevitably cause damage.
