Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the pressure of the water pumps. I have two variable-frequency water pumps; each one has a flow rate of 90 m3/h and a head of 51 meters. The flow path is as follows: the water pumps draw water from the tank, passes it through the equipment, then returns to the open water tower before going back to the tank. The equipment is located 200 meters away from the pumps. The pipes used are DN150 in size. There is also a set of equipment located about 10 meters away from the pumps, with pipes of DN100 diameter. I would like to know whether it’s necessary to use another set of pumps to supply water to that equipment located next to the pumps The required pressure at the remote end is around 2.5 bar – will it not be sufficient?
Do you mean that this pump is supposed to supply water to equipment located 10 meters away via a DN100 pipeline, as well as to equipment located 200 meters away via a DN150 pipeline, at a pressure of 2.5 bars? Moreover, the water also needs to be pumped to a water tower?
An open water tower, a water tank, and a water pump form a circulating water system. If the system (circulation water volume, head) can meet the requirements, there is no need to add pumps. Based on the known conditions, the head can meet the requirements, but the circulation water volume is unclear.
After preliminary calculations for distances of 10 meters and 200 meters, the extended-distance loss is a little over 5 meters; adding the local losses gives a total loss of slightly over 4 meters. In total, the loss amounts to 10 meters, leaving 41 meters remaining. If the maximum water level height of the water tower is less than 16 meters, then this pump will be sufficient for use. These calculations are based on the scenario of two devices connected in series; If two devices are connected in parallel, the flow rate for each device must be regulated using valves; more detailed parameters are required, and this involves a different algorithm

It seems to be a task related to operations; each device has inlet and outlet valves for water supply, and there are also valves controlling the flow in and out of each individual cooler unit. Operation control should be adjusted within the range of design parameters, and the cooling temperature needs to be considered comprehensively. For example, if the temperature of the cooler in a turbine-based air compressor is too low, a large amount of condensate water will be generated, which can cause liquid impact on the impeller or lead to corrosion of the equipment. Adjust the optimal amount using the return water valve of the cooler; as long as the parameters specified in the original design are followed, it will be possible to meet the control requirements.
The device next to the water pump is very close; I’m worried that the pressure at the distant devices won’t be sufficient
The water tank, the water pump, and the water tower are located next to each other. The water pumped by the pump is sent to devices located 10 meters away; once it returns to the water tower, the system becomes open-type. Will the pressure at those distant locations be very low?
Are the nearby and distant devices connected in parallel or in series?
In series, there are many devices, with return water pipes running along the same path
