Is it better to use flexible graphite packing rings or carbon-graphite packing rings in water pumps?
Aren’t all packing rings made of metal? It is only the filler rope itself that comes in different materials
There are also packing rings made of materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene and fiberglass. It mainly depends on the medium being transported; it’s not true that all packing rings are made of metal.
What exactly is LZ looking to inquire about regarding the material to be used for the filler? What material should be used for the packing ring?
I'm talking about the filler; some materials are soft graphite, while others are carbon graphite
Yes, it is, but all I’ve seen are metal ones. Of course, for highly corrosive media, non-metallic packing rings should be used, and mechanical seals need not be employed.
I’ve never seen carbon graphite; I’ve only seen flexible graphite
