Question 1: Should the impeller be dynamically balanced or statically balanced? It is D/b greater than or equal to 6, for static equilibrium ; If D/b is less than 6, is it necessary to perform dynamic balancing? Question 2: If the impeller has already been dynamically balanced, should dynamic balancing be done on the rotor assembly instead, or should weight be added to the impeller? Wouldn’t that destroy the existing dynamic balance of the impeller? With an experienced interpretation
The individual impeller is statically balanced, while the rotor components are dynamically balanced. An impeller that has been dynamically balanced does not need to be statically balanced. It is meaningless to perform dynamic balancing on a single impeller.

First perform static balance, then dynamic balance. If dynamic balancing has already been done, and static balancing of the impeller is performed as well, then dynamic balancing must be carried out again later on
D/b refers to the diameter-to-length ratio; a value of 6 or higher means that it appears to be a single piece of plate, and single-sided balancing is sufficient. If the value is less than 6, then double-ended balancing is required, which involves adding weights to both the left and right ends for testing purposes
