Regarding the selection of liquid caustic transport pumps!

Dear colleagues, what type of pump is suitable for transporting liquid caustic? Our company has been using chemical centrifugal pumps (fluoroplastic pumps) in the past, but there were frequent leaks at the seal locations; we have also used screw pumps (whose rubber seals tend to get damaged). Do you have any good recommendations?
For the seal of alkali pumps, it is recommended to use wear-resistant alloys

The mechanical seal for the fluoroplastic pump in question is WB2, right? Using a mechanical seal with double surfaces can help improve the situation. Additionally, measures need to be taken to protect the shaft from corrosion when dealing with liquid alkali.
I wonder what the concentration and temperature of the liquid alkali are that you mentioned? Since a fluoroplastic pump was chosen originally, the temperature should not be too high. Have you tried the IJ series of stainless steel alkali pumps?
A double-end face seal requires a cooling system, right? We don’t have cooling water here

Alkaline solutions are easy to handle, right? Half of the time, an internal mechanical seal together with P62 material is sufficient; magnetic pumps or shielded pumps work as well too. When using an external mechanical seal, it’s important to regularly clean the outside part with steam or hot water, which helps to ensure durability
Neither the WB2 seal nor the double-end face seal is as good as a magnetic pump. Alkaline solutions are corrosive and tend to crystallize; over time, leaks will occur regardless of the type of seal used. Since switching to magnetic pumps, there has been no need for repairs for 3 years now, and we plan to service one of them soon.
