Theoretically, that’s the case, but during a hydraulic test, due to elastic deformation, the pressure generally does not decrease, as the strain is too small; thus, no drop in pressure can be observed during the pressure increase process. (This assumes that the pressure increase is not very significant and that the pressure is measured using strain gauges, but this approach is usually used only in laboratories or for studies related to strain strengthening.)
