When testing the airtightness of our factory, it is required that the pressure inside the centrifugal pump’s casing not exceed 10 kilograms, and white oil must be added to the sealing tank. However, when the pump is in normal standby mode, the pressure inside the pump body is the same as the pressure in the towers and tanks; in most cases this pressure exceeds 10 kilograms. I don’t understand this – please advise, experts!
Generally, centrifugal pump impellers are equipped with balance holes; during operation, the pressure at the mechanical seal is equivalent to the inlet pressure, and this pressure is usually not high.
1. The mechanical seal cannot retain air; 2. As a result of purging the pipelines and equipment, air leakage can cause a small amount of impurities to enter the end face of the mechanical seal, leading to damage to its rotating and stationary rings.
Is the airtight pressure energy equivalent to the hydraulic pressure? 10 kilograms corresponds to 1 MPa of gas pressure, which is extremely high and dangerous
When the system is airtight, isolate as much as possible those moving parts that can be isolated (especially valuable valves and pumps); otherwise, debris entering and failing to be cleaned properly can cause wear during operation.
The pump’s seal may leak air, resulting in an inability to maintain pressure; debris can also get into the seal and cause it to fail
