I’d like to ask for advice. We have a vertical cycloidal pinwheel reducer with an oil pump, and as soon as it’s turned on, oil starts leaking out from the L-shaped oil sight glass. At first, the oil level was set so that the oil could be seen in the L-shaped oil tube; but after that, a lot of oil was drained, yet oil still continues to leak out from the oil sight glass. What could be the reason for this?
Reducer with oil pump? First time encountering it
We were told by the manufacturer that the oil level should be such that it’s visible through the oil sight glass; yet even after adding a lot of oil, there was still leakage
This shouldn’t happen; the oil pump is working properly
It is recommended to eliminate the L-shaped oil pipe and replace it with an oil sight glass. It seems to be a cycloidal mechanism; if it is indeed a reducer with low speed, it’s completely possible to use 0# or 1# lithium-based grease instead, and there’s no need for an oil pump. The speed increase gear requires forced lubrication by an oil pump
Has this reducer been disassembled? Did one of the cushion eyes get missed? It should be a problem with the oil return system
For gear oil with an oil pump, it’s not necessary to add too much oil. Just replace the oil tube with a transparent one so that it’s possible to see the oil flowing while the pump is in operation
Raise the upper part of the oil pipe a bit. There might be air in the pipeline or a sealing issue somewhere. Check if there is any problem with the oil seal of the output shaft
The oil level is too high; coupled with the rise in oil temperature after operation, which causes the oil to expand in volume, it leaks out.
