I have a question for the experts in this industry: my diesel pump doesn’t manage to reach an adequate outlet pressure. What should I do? I would be extremely grateful if the expert could offer some guidance! ! !
1. Check the pump’s allowable net positive suction head and the actual system net positive suction head; 2. Check the pump inlet pipeline and calculate the flow velocity to determine whether there is insufficient suction ; 3. Check the vapor pressure of the medium being transported to determine whether vaporization occurs at the pump impeller
Is there a problem with the installation height?
Was the pump depressurized before operation? Is there a filter at the inlet and is it clogged?
Check the rotation direction of the water pump and the diesel engine, verify whether the diesel engine is running at its maximum speed, and close the pump outlet valve to see if the pressure rises
Check that some pump covers have flow channels; if the pump cover is installed upside down, these channels will get blocked, resulting in no flow or pressure.
1. Is the rotation direction correct? 2. Is there gas inside the pump or at the inlet? 3. Is the filter in the pump’s inlet pipeline clogged? Are the flow channels of the pump impeller blocked? Is the gap around the impeller’s sealing ring too large? 4. Is the pump’s inlet pipe too long, or is the pump positioned too high? Or is the liquid level in the pump’s inlet tank too low? 5. Is there insufficient back pressure at the pump outlet? In other words, is there no pressure or is the pressure low in the pump’s outlet system? Is there a return line open at the pump outlet? 6. Check whether the pressure gauge or pressure transmitter is malfunctioning, and whether there is gas inside the pressure transmitter
It is necessary to analyze whether it is a new pump or an old one separately. For new pumps, the focus should be on checking issues related to the outside of the pump, while for old pumps, the emphasis should be on examining problems within the pump itself, such as worn impellers
