Our unit uses a combination of a turbine and a centrifugal compressor for the circulating hydrogen compressor; is it significant if liquid enters the compressor along with the gas?
Generally, there is a liquid separation tank and a level interlock system; the presence of liquid increases the load on the compressor, and an excessive amount of liquid can damage the impeller.

If a small amount of liquid enters the centrifugal compressor, it will cause changes in the dynamic phase mass of the impeller upon contact with it, disrupting the rotor’s dynamic balance and leading to a surge in vibrations! At the same time, at high rotational speeds, the liquid exerts a strong impact on the blades the moment it comes into contact with them; in severe cases, this can cause erosion of the blades and damage to them. This ultimately leads to a disruption of dynamic balance, causing vibrations to soar! If a large amount of liquid enters the compressor, first, liquid cannot be compressed, which can cause the outlet pressure to rise excessively or even lead to pressure buildup. Second, when the high-speed rotor suddenly encounters liquid resistance, the blades will behave as if the propeller of a helicopter had suddenly hit a cliff; the consequences are something you can imagine
