I have a problem; I’d like to ask for help from all the experts on the forum. The company has multiple liquid supply pipelines, with a separate supply pump for each loop. There are connecting pipes between the outlet lines of these pumps. The pump’s flow rate is 150 m³/h, and its head is 17 m. The actual flow rate (as measured by the flow meter) is approximately 130 m³/h. In recent months, it has been observed that there isn’t enough liquid reaching certain stations. The pipelines were recently cleaned, so there shouldn’t be any blockage issues. But in a row of workbenches, there will be a few ones without liquid; if you use a vacuum cleaner to suck it up, it will flow back down, but then other workbenches will run out of liquid again. Is it insufficient flow or insufficient head? How should it be rectified? Thank you
It’s just a lack of traffic. When such a phenomenon occurs, the flow rate compared to normal conditions should decrease. It is recommended to install valves and pressure gauges in front of each outlet, so as to control the flow rate according to the pressure parameters and regulate the system pressure. For reference.
The head is too low! The pump outlet pressure might be insufficient!
It has mainly been used this way before as well, with a pump outlet pressure of 0.16 MPa.
I also think the flow rate is insufficient. There are 4 liquid supply pumps, and another identical pump was added, but the total flow rate only increased by a little over 40 cubic meters. Is the pipeline resistance too high?
How to allocate it can be controlled arbitrarily based on the total amount, along with the control of the outlet valves for each path. But it is impossible to achieve full load in all branches. For reference.
Is the pump inlet piping reasonable? Does the inlet flow rate meet the suction requirements of the pump?
All imports are taken care of; what about the 250 import pipes? Reduce diameter to pump 125.
What is the height of the pump inlet pipe, and how high is the highest point of the outlet side? It is possible to determine whether it is a head issue. Additionally, when selecting a pump, in addition to flow rate and head, speed also needs to be taken into consideration, right?
