Sliding-vane compressors utilize traditional, proven technology to be driven directly at very low speeds, offering unparalleled reliability. The rotor is the only component that operates continuously; it has several slots cut along its length, into which slugs that can slide on an oil film are inserted. The rotor rotates within the stator of the cylinder. During rotation, centrifugal force flings the slugs out of the grooves, creating individual compression chambers. Rotation causes the volume of the compression chamber to continuously decrease, resulting in an increasing air pressure. The heat generated by compression is controlled by injecting pressurized oil. High-pressure air is discharged from the exhaust port, and the residual oil is removed through a final oil separator. Working principle of the vane compressor: Air is drawn in through a filter and a control valve, which is primarily used to regulate the pressure chamber formed by the vanes and the rotor of the air cylinder. The rotor rotates in an eccentric manner relative to the cylinder; valve plates are installed in the grooves of the rotor, and centrifugal force pushes these valves against the cylinder wall. An efficient oiling system ensures proper cooling of the compressor as well as minimal loss of lubricant. A thin layer of oil formed on the cylinder wall prevents direct contact between metal components, thus avoiding wear.
